When God Throws Your Face Into A Wall…You Listen.

When I took my hands away from my forehead, it took me a second to realize that blood was pouring down my face. What just happened?

I’m still not entirely sure.

What I do know is that I don’t believe everything happens by accident. I believe there is always something deeper asking to be seen, understood, or felt.

Have you ever experienced an illness, injury, or accident that changed the trajectory of your life? Maybe something happened that, at the time, felt random or even devastating, only to eventually guide you toward an entirely different path.

If you have, you’re not alone.

Our physical bodies are only one part of who we are. Some traditions and spiritual teachings suggest that we are not our bodies—we have bodies. We are energetic beings experiencing life through a physical form.

I think of the body as a kind of thermometer. It can reveal what is happening within the parts of ourselves we cannot always see: our thoughts, beliefs, behaviours, emotions, patterns, and perhaps even experiences that reach beyond this lifetime.

So, back to my forehead.

I have a home gym with a box jump—a sturdy platform, roughly 18 to 24 inches high. Mine sits against a wall beneath one of my favourite art prints. I was on my third set, jumping with both feet onto the box, when something incredibly strange happened.  It happened so quickly that I barely had time to process it. Both feet landed on the box, and then I felt what seemed like the force of a strong man coming up behind me and shoving me forward into the wall.

There was no man there. But the force was real. I fell forward and my head smashed into the frame of the picture.

I immediately stepped down, grabbed my head, and dropped to the floor from the pain. I wanted to cry, but mostly I was confused and in shock. A few sobs escaped as I looked down and realized my hands were covered in blood.

I looked up at the picture. It was completely intact. No broken glass. Nothing obvious that explained the force of what had just happened.

Then something interesting happened.

Amid the shock and pain, a deep calm came over me. I knew I needed to take care of myself. I went to the bathroom, pressed tissue against my forehead, and washed the blood from my hands. It took a few moments before I was ready to look in the mirror. When I finally did, I was shocked. There was a swelling larger than a golf ball and two red-purple cuts stretching across my forehead.

Immediately, my mind began asking questions. Why did this happen?

The strange force I had felt didn’t make sense with the movement I had been doing. So I began approaching the experience in the same way I often work with clients—by asking questions and becoming curious about what might be underneath the obvious.

What was I thinking about immediately before it happened? God and my energetic field.

Why blunt head trauma? To get my attention.

Why the forehead? The forehead has long been associated, symbolically and spiritually, with higher consciousness and perception.

And then came the question that stopped me.

What is my relationship with my higher self and with God right now? Hmmm. Was I angry? Was I yearning? Was I being asked to surrender? Did I need to be cracked open?

I didn’t have an immediate answer.

Then I asked myself why I had hit my head on that particular picture.

The meaning I associate with the image is that the despair of the old gives birth to a new dimension.

Again…hmmm.

Maybe coincidence is simply what we call something before we understand its meaning. I’m not claiming to know exactly why this happened. I’m not even sure I’m supposed to know yet. But I can’t ignore the correlations.

As I reached out to friends for support and care for the wound, I kept returning to the same questions. What am I being asked to see? What do I need to know? What am I being invited to pause and listen to? I can feel, deep in my bones, that there is something here for me.

Do I have some idea of what it is? Sure. Do I know everything? Absolutely not. And perhaps that is one of the great beauties of the mystery.

So many of us seek healing because we want answers. We attend ceremonies, work with healers, meditate, pray, explore our consciousness—and often, somewhere underneath it all, we hope everything will suddenly make sense.

We want the whole story. Right now. But maybe that isn't how healing works. Maybe we are only given what we are ready to receive. A piece of the mystery. A lesson. A person. A synchronicity. A door opening. Another one closing. And then, eventually, another piece arrives.

The mystery unfolds when we allow it to. So sit with your highest self. Sit with your Oversoul. Sit with God. Sit with whatever you pray to, however you pray. And just sit. Be still enough to listen. Allow yourself to receive what is coming. What has already come. What is here right now.

I don't yet know what this forehead smash means for me. But I do know that it has opened something. A shift within me. A shift in consciousness. A shift into a greater sense of who I am.

Maybe the body isn't simply something we live in. Maybe, and in fact more likely...it is speaking to us.

Are you curious about what your body might be trying to tell you? It is wise beyond what we are taught.

If you're curious, Quantum Hypnosis can be a powerful way to explore the deeper layers of your inner world and listen for the answers that are ready and waiting within you.
